A major component of the cardiac services offered at Day Kimball is the diagnostic testing procedures conducted by the Non-invasive cardiology department. As a further indication of Day Kimball’s commitment to the heart health of Northeastern Connecticut, we offer state-of-the-art testing on a level and variety usually found only at major medical centers.

An 心电图 is a relatively quick procedure that will take approximately 10-15 minutes. This monitor can be worn from three days up to eighteen days, which is determined by your provider. Once completed the final report is normally available within 72 hours and will be reviewed by a physician and then faxed to the ordering provider.

A 循环记录器 may be ordered by your provider if they suspect your condition is caused by an abnormal heart rhythm. This small monitor is worn on the outside of your chest and will activate for specific heart rhythms and can be activated by the patient when a symptom occurs. 这种显示器可以佩戴7天到30天. There are two manners of 压力测试ing, either physical or chemical. 复律法 are sometimes ordered by your provider when your heart rhythm is abnormal. Typically patients with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter will be scheduled for this procedure. Where they will use a specific machine that uses electrical current to “reset” or “shock” your heart back into a normal rhythm.
